Melville Productions was set up as an Independent film making company in 2003 with the idea of promoting actors who find it difficult to/or may never (without help) make it to mainstream TV and commercial films.  At that time it was understood that the undertakings would be a Herculean task on unchartered ground full of unimaginable obstacles. But the spirit was and still is, to overcome them all and achieve what is in our heart. We are not inclined to compete with the giants of Hollywood but we are set single-mindedly to aim quite high and be their equal. We are also pragmatic enough to believe that this may not happen in our lifetime but if we continue to persevere... the future generation might see this happening.

The aim of Melville Productions is primarily

- to share knowledge and educate

- when one makes it to the top, send the lift down again so that those  less fortunate can climb up

- shed off all prejudice one may have as we embark in a project.

Artists are very sensitive to what they see, hear and feel.  This may not come as a great revealation to actors,  as those who have been to countless auditions and through the humiliation of drama schools will understand that a slight remark may  be and usually is quite detrimental to an entire performance. Melville Productions acknowledges this kind of difficulties and wishes to be the champion of the oppressed and the unfortunates. This production house is and will forever be interested in working with actors/artists of any background, regardless of their creed, race, gender, colour, ethnicity, sexual orientation and religion; our belief is that all these constructs are irrelevant in the spirit of creativity.

So far Melville Productions has not secured any funding, the writer and/or drirector personally funds each film made. The films made have all been no budget. There are a good few scripts both shorts and features which are waiting to be produced. Melville Productions may still be in its infancy, but those behind it have high hopes and great expectations with the conviction and determination to succeed. The motto of Melville Productions is "aim  high, for the furthest star!"
