IV REICH (THE RISING...)
"God is dead"; at the time when Nietzsche made this declaration and his belief that we must therefore create a new man, a 'Superman', little did he realise that the impact this sentence would eventually make would be of epic porpotion... that it would burn away the notion of Europe as the source and centre of human civilization, with the unfolding of the holocaust, as an indirect result.. A widely read philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche continues to be grossly misunderstood. Hitler became the champion of this statement (not as much in 'God is dead' but the idea of creating a superman). Politicians, as Nietzsche had observed are more concerned with expedience than truth, and Hitler himself unashamedly agreed with this in his book, Mein Kampf. In the beer halls where he was rising he single-mindedly envisioned this so-called superman which he later renamed the 'aryan race'. How did all this and/or did all this really spiced Hitler's Nazi Ideology? Could the Final Solution of 1941-5 be avoided if Hitler was 'sober' enough to see the metaphoric aspect of Nietzsche's statement?
IV Reich, The Rising does not try to find the solution or provide answers, but gives an idea that an ideology which was capable of the largest single campaign of genocide does not just die... in fact it survives however, and goes on to live indefinitely.
The Nazis had a workable knowledge of Stem Cell research long before the idea itself was conceived in the rest of the world. By the early 1940's they had already tried and tested a rejuvenating drug powerful enough to work wonders. As the net was closing on Hitler, a few selected officials and himself took the drug and disappeared... Presumed dead, the world carried on rebuilding itself and the next generations came to know about the atrocities through history books and the media.
The rejuvenating drug appears to do more than it was anticipated- it also extend life span... IV Reich is the story of the re-apparition of Hitler with his cronies in today's London, each of them young and strong. But also, despite the fact that over 60 years have elapsed, their primitive right wing ideology is still strong. And this time, they are more determined than ever to succeed, but one of them has different ideas.
IV Reich is a fictitious account of how one individual realises that xenophobia is simply a personal campaign and will not absolutely change anything. It may only disrupt the history of a people but their determination prevails...
